My mind was once a jigsaw, scattered and torn,
There was no frame to guide, no picture born.

My worries were rehearsed, and arguments were spun,
And a trillion dreams were imagined but never begun.

I was stuck with old mental loops repeating,
Always the same old song,
Which left me stuck in habitual grooves that kept dragging me along.

Some pieces were recycled, jammed in tight,
But this just confused my puzzle and blocked my foresight.

I learned my puzzle was never confined,
Its borders could shift, its edges re‑align.

And that the fragments I’d been searching for, missing and torn,
Had always been part of my story since the day I was born.

I started swapping old pieces and discarding the lies,
And started rebuilding a design where my honesty could rise.

One by one, as each new truth was found, I reshaped the space.
Leaving a fresh new legacy in its place

Each scar became my texture, each crack a line,
Evidence of my resilience in my puzzle’s redesign.

Eventually, hope returned so I could rise again,
Enabling me to create a new image with a self-compassionate frame.

And now the fragments that were once fractured now fit into place,
A mosaic of courage, a canvas of grace.

I’m no longer confined by the shattered pieces of my past,
Because I’ve now built a new picture that’s been designed to last.

My puzzle still bends with seasons, it learns, it mends,
But now it is a living creation that will never end.

Only I hold the pieces; I can choose to set them free,
Because I am a masterpiece unfolding,

Only this time, I am being redesigned by me.

Reflection activity – Rebuilding and Reframing Your Puzzle

Which pieces feel recycled or jammed in tight?

What truths have you discovered that reshaped your design?

Where do your scars add texture and meaning?

What does your mosaic look like now—and what colours or shapes are still unfolding?
