Writing is my therapy,
it helps me process my shit,
so I don’t become my own worst enemy
and stay trapped inside of it.

It helps me let go of the need to control,
pulls me from dark places back into the know,
guiding me towards a steadier path
when life’s storms threaten to steal the show.

It reminds me to step off life’s rat race,
to slow down and soften my pace,
to breathe a little deeper
and create myself some space.

In the quiet, undisturbed moments,
with just me and my pen,
it allows me to dig deep
and have a proper word with myself again.

Sometimes I’m surprised by what is revealed,
especially the wounds I thought had healed,
the hidden hurt, the old beliefs,
the scars I thought were sealed.

Then other times I’m amazed
by the strength I’ve managed to find,
the growth that happened quietly
while I was busy living life blind.

Page after page, truth after truth,
I uncover parts of who I am,
and with every word I choose to write,
I understand myself again.

For writing isn’t just a pastime,
or a place for words to land,
it’s where I meet my truest self,
and can start to understand.

There are times I’m amazed
by the strength I’ve found inside,
proof that even broken parts of me
still had room to grow and thrive.

Because every page holds a lesson,
every sentence helps me see,
that writing isn’t just what I do,
it’s how I discover me.

So if life feels heavy on your shoulders,
and your head won’t give you peace,
stop trying to outrun your thoughts
and give yourself permission to release.

Grab a pen, write the ugly stuff,
the anger, the fear, the doubt you’re hiding too,
because sometimes the hardest conversations
are the ones you need to have with you.

Disclaimer: I don’t write any of this for financial gain or applause. I write because I’ve lived it, and because I know how lonely it can feel when you’re carrying a story like this with no roadmap and no language for it. If sharing my own experience helps even one person feel a bit less isolated, a bit more understood, or a bit more steady on their feet, then that’s enough for me.

So if you fancy getting the occasional email with whatever I’ve been scribbling down, the newest blogs, the raw reflections, the bits of lived wisdom I’m still learning myself you’re welcome to subscribe at the bottom of the main page. No pressure, no weekly spam, just honest writing whenev,er I’ve actually got something worth saying.

  1. I love this Tracey. So so true. I can’t write poetry. I take photos or litterpick to help me reconnect to Jesus as……

“It helps me let go of the need to control,

guiding me towards a steadier path
when life’s storms threaten to steal the show”

So glad you called it fuck me. Deffo got my attention and got me to pause.
